Harishchandragad Trek and Night Camping (2 Days / 1 Night)
This departure is a Harishchandragad night stay trek: we climb on day one, spend the night on the fort and watch sunrise over Konkan Kada the next morning. The night on top is the reason to do Harishchandragad as a two-day trek rather than a day trip - the plateau empties out after the day crowd leaves, the sky opens up, and Konkan Kada at first light is a different place from Konkan Kada at noon.
Where you sleep
We camp in tents on the plateau near the Harishchandreshwar temple, close to water and to the Kedareshwar cave. Tents, sleeping mats and sleeping bags are arranged by us and shared between two or three people. If the weather turns, the temple complex and the caves give shelter, and the group moves there instead - the trek lead decides on the night.
What the night looks like
- Reach the plateau by late afternoon, pitch camp and walk out to Konkan Kada for sunset.
- Hot dinner cooked at the campsite, followed by an hour of fort history around the fire.
- Clear nights give a full view of the Milky Way - Harishchandragad is far enough from any town that there is almost no light pollution.
- Early wake-up for sunrise from Konkan Kada, then breakfast and the descent.
What to carry for the night stay
A warm layer and a windcheater - the plateau is noticeably colder and windier after dark, even in October. A head torch with spare batteries, a power bank, and at least three litres of water for the climb. Everything else for camping is provided.
In short: day one is the climb and the night on the fort; day two is sunrise from Konkan Kada and the descent. Tents, sleeping bags and all meals are arranged by us.

What Is Included
